Squadron Motto: “Hlabezulu” (The Stabber of the Sky)
266 Squadron was formed in Greece on 27th September 1918.
In November 1946 266 Squadron arrived at Wattisham with Meteor F3s. However, the airfield was found to be not really suitable for jet fighter operations, so 266 Squadron departed Wattisham shortly after.
